Apparently, a timely decision isn't as essential for New Yorkers as it is for Illini as the governor of the Empire state continues to demur in respect of his appointment of a senator to replace Hillary Clinton. NY Governor Paterson's latest ploy to avoid questioning was to cancel an interview with a cable tv program on the grounds he had an upset stomach from some bad seafood. Recently, the governor said his choice ideally would have economic experience and help diversify the senate noting women and Hispanics are under-represented. Despite the fact that Mayor Bloomberg's office called the appointment of anyone but Ms. K "political malpractice" she only satisfies one of those criteria. While her name has not been among the leaders, Nydia Velazquez, chair of the house small business committee does have those qualifications. I'm sure many paths will be crossing at the inauguration.
