The US economy's scary decline continues with a loss of 524,000 jobs in December. Over 200,000 came in the teetering service sector including banks and insurance companies. Over 100,000 were laid off in both auto parts and construction. Timing couldn't be worse for the planned switch to digital TV format which would make old sets redundant Feb. 17,2009. President-elect Obama has proposed a delay which is amenable to US national networks.

The US economy's scary decline continues with a loss of 524,000 jobs in December. Over 200,000 came in the teetering service sector including banks and insurance companies.
